Peter and the Starcatcher Photos - Broadway

Earlier today, Peter and the Starcatcher stars Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter), Celia Keenan-Bolger (Molly), Matthew Saldívar (Black Stache), and co-director Roger Rees, were joined by New York City Department of Education Deputy Chancellor Dr. Dorita Gibson and Senior Superintendent Dr. Laura Feijo and public school theater students. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012 and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). Just last night, playwright Rick Elice moderated a post-show discussion with Sandy Duncan (known for her iconic portrayal of 'Peter Pan') and Peter and the Starcatcher's own stars about the thrills and challenges of essaying such legendary characters. CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's PETER AND THE STARCATCHER was already hard a work this week recording their track for the album. Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony® Award-winning play by Rick Elice, celebrates the 10th annual International Talk Like a Pirate Day today, September 19th, with a special "Stache Day" in honor of their own pirate, Black Stache. This morning, the first 100 fans in line at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street) with mustaches (real or fake!) received one free ticket for this evening's performance. Christian Borle, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his role as 'Black Stache' in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER, departed his role for the filming of season two of NBC's SMASH last week. Taking over the role is Matthew Saldivar, who has been seen on Broadway as Steve in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, Sammy in THE WEDDING SINGER and Kenickie in GREASE. Yesterday, July 11, Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony® Award-winning play written by Rick Elice and directed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers, celebrated its 100th performance at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. In honor of the occasion, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg has officially proclaimed July 11, 2012 as "Peter and the Starcatcher Day" in New York City.
