WWII Veterans Enjoy 'South Pacific' as Guests of 'Times Square Nurse' More than 50 World War II veterans and their wives began their July 4th weekend with a special reception in their honor held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles last Saturday (July 3) and the matinee performance of 'South Pacific' as guests of the late Edith Shain, the 'Times Square Nurse' who passed away on June 20 at age 91.

Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, directed by Bartlett Sher, will play its 500th performance this Saturday night, June 13, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

Laura Osnes and David Pittsinger joined the cast of Lincoln Center's SOUTH PACIFIC on March 10. The pair took over for Kelli O'Hara and Paulo Szot in the Tony Award-winning Rodgers & Hammerstein musical.

Original and current South Pacific stars joined together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the original, Tony Award winning Broadway production; the 50th anniversary of the Academy Award winning movie adaptation; and the 1st year anniversary of Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning Broadway revival.

Danny Burstein who received a Tony nomination and an Outer Critics Circle Award for his performance as Luther Billis in the current Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC was honored with a Sardi's caricature on Tuesday, Feb. 3. BWW joined the fun as the Broadway favorite viewed his portrait at Sardi's, Sardi's Restaurant is located at 234 West 44th Street.

Bass-Baritone David Pittsinger has assumed the role of Emile de Becque in Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's SOUTH PACIFIC, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater for a limited time. He has stepped in for the production's current Emile de Becque, Tony Winning baritone Paulo Szot, who had to leave the musical to honor two previously scheduled opera commitments.

Edith Shain, the nurse in the iconic kissing photo taken in Times Square the day World War II ended, had 'some enchanted evening' when she visited the Tony Award winning Broadway revival of 'South Pacific' and met the ?sailors' from the cast, Sunday November 9, 2 PM, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, Lincoln Center.

Mitzi Gaynor, Nellie Forbush in the 1958 film version of SOUTH PACIFIC, met the cast of the current Broadway revival production at Lincoln Center's Vivian Beaumont Theatre on October 9, 2008.

Yesterday, June 5th, the cast of SOUTH PACIFIC performed and signed CDs at Barnes and Nobles Lincoln Triangle.

The cast of 'South Pacific' went into the recording studio to record the cast album, which will be released on May 27th.

The cast and crew of South Pacific celebrated their opening night in style. The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic opened its first ever revival on April 3.
