A darling of the Broadway community for years, on Sunday, CAROUSEL's Lindsay Mendez won her first Tony Award. In her acceptance speech, she told a story about how she was encouraged to change her last name when she began her career. Clearly she didn't, and she closed her speech saying, '...be your true selves and the world will take note. Thank you so so much.'

The company of Carousel had reason to celebrate this week, as the show picked up eleven Tony nominations. One of them went to the outstanding choreography of Justin Peck, who makes his Broadway debut with this piece. Watch as the company brings his vision to life on the Imperial stage below!

That's because Rodgers & Hammerstein's classic musical Carousel, under the direction of three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreography by Justin Peck, opened officially, bringing the beloved show back to Broadway for the first time in over 20 years.
