You won't need a magic lamp to discover a whole new world on Broadway.  Disney’s Aladdin,  brings the beloved animated film to dazzling life on stage. Now in its ninth year on Broadway, Aladdin whisks audiences away on a high adventure filled with romance, laughter, and unforgettable spectacle.

What’s the story? Aladdin is a lovable street rat with big dreams, who stumbles upon a magical lamp and a larger-than-life Genie who can grant three wishes. With his newfound power, Aladdin seeks to win the heart of Princess Jasmine and defeat the scheming Jafar, embarking on a whirlwind journey of self-discovery along the way.

Since its opened on Broadway on March 20, 2014, Aladdin has enchanted critics and audiences alike, earning a Tony Award for ‘Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical’ for James Monroe Iglehart's portrayal of the Genie.

The show also received nominations for ‘Best Musical,’ ‘Best Book of a Musical,’ and ‘Best Original Score,’ along with a Grammy nomination for ‘Best Musical Theater Album.’ Its colorful set designs, lavish costumes, and incredible staging have made Aladdin a visually stunning experience that leaves audiences in awe. And did we mention the magic carpet...?

Featuring timeless songs from the original film like “A Whole New World,” “Friend Like Me,” and “Prince Ali,” plus new songs written by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, Tim Rice, and Chad Beguelin, Aladdin enchants theatergoers of all ages and brings Agrabah to life in a way that only Broadway can.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Casey Nicholaw, Aladdin first found success in Toronto before transferring to Broadway, where it has continued to captivate audiences from around the world. Productions have since launched in London’s West End, Tokyo, Sydney, and more, cementing its status as a global hit.

Whether you grew up with the Disney classic or are discovering it for the first time, Aladdin offers a magical escape that’s fun for the entire family. With its themes of love, courage, and adventure, it’s a perfect reminder that a whole new world is always just a wish away.

FEATURED REVIEWS FOR Aladdin

Aladdin: Theater Review
7 / 10

Its exotic Middle Eastern setting and multiethnic cast aside, Aladdin offers less 'A Whole New World' - to quote its signature song - than a traditional Disney fairy-tale realm; it's perhaps the most old-school of the company's screen-to-stage adaptations since Beauty and the Beast. But that shouldn't deter audiences from making this splashy Arabian Nights wish-fulfillment fantasy into a family-friendly hit. Directed and choreographed by musical comedy specialist Casey Nicholaw with loads of retro showmanship, an unapologetic embrace of casbah kitsch and a heavy accent on shtick, this is sweet, silly fun. It's not the most sophisticated entertainment, but the target demographic won't mind at all.

‘Aladdin’ Theater Review: Disney's Animation Team Got It Right the First Time
5 / 10

Suffice to say, 'Aladdin' bears no resemblance to Nicholaw's previous laugh-filled Broadway effort, 'The Book of Mormon.'...And neither does Chad Beguelin's book, which is loaded with some clever 'Sesame Street' word play but finds no magic whatsoever in a story rife with magic lanterns, carpets, genies and sultry Arabian nights. Will children get the humor in send-ups of old tap and soft-shoe numbers? Isn't mocking stage traditions a rather cynical way to introduce children to the theater?
