Good theatre makes you think, and Albee has given the audience a lot to chew on here. Issues concerning death and the ways in which we identify ourselves are keys to figuring it out, but don't expect to decipher it all, even Albee doesn't fully explain what he's getting at. At times, it's rather messy and convoluted, but THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE provokes a dialog, and that's truly the key to understanding it.

Over the weekend, Dr. Ruth Westheimer paid a visit to the new musical 'Enter Laughing', presented by York Theater Company. Dr. Ruth is a sex therapist and author who came into celebrity in the 1980's. She has continued to support the American theater and has participated in several events for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and 'Broadway Barks'.

XANADU in Chicago will star Elizabeth Stanley as 'Kira' (played in the film version by Olivia Newton-John), Max Von Essen as 'Sonny,' Sharon Wilkins and Joanna Glushak as the evil Muses 'Melpomene' and 'Calliope,' respectively, and Larry Marshal as 'Danny' (played in the film version by Gene Kelly). XANADU's cast also features Tallia Brinson, Amy Goldberger, Vince Rodriguez III, Jason Michael Snow, Kristofer Stock, JB Wing and Chicagoland-natives Julius Thomas III and Tiffany Topol.
