In a career that spans more than three decades, legendary and Grammy-nominated saxophonist Dave Koz returns to the road this holiday season for his 21st annual Dave Koz Christmas Tour. Special guests joining Dave this year will be Mindi Abair, pop/blues saxophonist/singer who makes her first Christmas tour appearance; South African guitarist/singer Jonathan Butler; and Japanese keyboard sensation Keiko Matsui.

Keyboardist Erik Deutsch makes American music, pure and simple. Over the last two decades plus, he's earned a stellar reputation as a bandleader and collaborator, working with artists like Steven Bernstein, Theo Bleckmann, Rosanne Cash, Nels Cline, Charlie Hunter, Shooter Jennings, Norah Jones, Leftover Salmon, Shelby Lynne, and many, many more. At the same time, he's made five albums under his own name full of willfully uncategorizable compositions that combine jazz, funk, country and rock into a swirling, raucous blend that jumps, struts, croons and shouts. His sixth album as a leader, Falling Flowers, will be released September 14 onLoHi Records.

Superstar songwriters Rafe Van Hoy, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Dale Dodson, Waylon Payne, Don Sampson and Ronnie Bowman will pay tribute to Hank Cochran and Red Lane at 3rd & Lindsley (816 3rd Ave. South) on Wednesday, January 17 to benefit The Hank Cochran Pen Fund. Tickets are $10; doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30. The 501(c)(3) charity focuses its efforts on financially assisting songwriters with cancer.
