The Bad Dog Theatre Company will celebrate over 40 years of unscripted comedy and improvised performance in Toronto by bringing back its flagship show Theatresports every Friday for 40 weeks at Comedy Bar (945 Bloor St W) starting October 7th.

Second City and SNL alum Jerry Minor returns to Chicago to direct his first resident stage production with an ensemble that includes e.t.c. stage vets Alex Bellisle, Mark Campbell, Terrence Carey, and Laurel Krabacher, Mainstage alum Jordan Savusa, and former Second City Touring Company member Claudia Martinez.

Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City has announced the creation of The Victor Wong Fellowship, a program to train and mentor up-and-coming comedians. Named after The Second City's first Asian American performer and funded by Peng Zhao, CEO of Citadel Securities, and his wife, Cherry Chen, the fellowship will focus on developing the next generation of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) talent. 

The Second City Film School, the legendary launching pad for the biggest names in improv and comedy, today announced a partnership with the Catalyst Story Institute, a nonprofit that helps creators of every age and background find traditional and nontraditional outlets for the content they develop. 

Netflix has released a first look at Mike Myers' new series, The Pentaverate. The film stars Mike Myers, Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, and Lydia West. Legendary Chicago comedy institution The Second City is proud to announce the cast and crew of The Second City’s 110th Mainstage Revue. Resident stage and Second City Touring Company director Jen Ellison (Apes of Wrath) will make her Mainstage directorial debut with an ensemble that includes Together at Last returning members Evan Mills and Musical Director Jeff Bouthiette.

Originally released on February 14, 1992, Wayne's World marked the feature film debut of Wayne and Garth, the wildly popular characters originated by Mike Myers and Dana Carvey on “Saturday Night Live.”  A hilarious send-up of pop culture, the film also features Rob Lowe, Tia Carrere, and Alice Cooper.

The comedy fest in Los Angeles will feature Amy Poehler, Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Chris Rock, Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, Ellen DeGeneres, Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Jerry Seinfeld, John Mulaney, Larry David, Margaret Cho, Maya Rudolph, Nick Kroll, Sandra Bernhard, Seth Rogen, Tina Fey, Wanda Sykes and more. 

The Second City returns to the McAninch Arts Center just in time for the holidays with “It's a Wild, Wacky, Wonderful Life” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12.

ZMC said today that it has acquired The Second City, the world's premier brand in improvisation and sketch-based comedy entertainment and education. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
