BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that James Lipton, executive producer, writer, and host of the Bravo cable television series Inside the Actors Studio, has died at age 93.

NBC has tied for #1 for the primetime ratings week of Dec. 30-Jan. 5 among the Big 4 networks in the key demographic of adults 18-49 and won the week outright in adults 25-54 and all key adult-female demographics, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

Celebrating the longest-running primetime drama in television history, the Paley Center for Media and NBC are jointly announcing the hourlong special “The Paley Center Salutes Law & Order: SVU,” set for Thursday, Jan. 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The ninth edition of this star-studded evening benefiting True Colors United features Cyndi, her band, and a host of special guests. The concert will happen at The Novo at L.A. Live on Tuesday, December 10. The artist line-up will be announced soon and tickets will go on sale on Friday, October 18th at AXS.com.

The Paley Center for Media today announced the first selections to its Fall 2019 PaleyLive NY season: The Amazin' 1969 New York Mets: A World Championship for the Ages and History is Made: Law & Order: SVU Celebrates a Milestone. Both programs will take place at the Paley Center's New York location in September and are presented in partnership with the New York Post.

The Infinite Joy Cabaret Benefit features Carole Demas (original Sandy in Grease) and Sarah Rice (original Johanna in Sweeney Todd) alongside a talent-packed cast on Monday, July 15 at 7pm at Don't Tell Mama to help raise funds for The Joyful Heart Foundation to help stop domestic violence and sexual assault. The show is musically directed by multiple MAC and Bistro Award winning Tracy Stark.

The long-awaited trailer for the upcoming documentary, “EMANUEL,” is available now. This year marks the fourth anniversary of the Charleston, South Carolina tragedy at Emanuel A.M.E. Church. “EMANUEL,” opens in movie theaters nationwide, as a limited release event with Fathom Events on June 17 and 19 only.

Racing into the record book to set the mark as the longest-running primetime live-action series in television history, NBC has renewed “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for a 21st season.
