The USC Libraries named the finalists for the 32nd-annual USC Libraries Scripter Award, which honors the year's most accomplished film and television adaptations, as well as the works on which they are based.

The Hollywood Film Awards announced today that highly-acclaimed artists Antonio Banderas, Renée Zellweger, Al Pacino and Laura Dern will be honored at the 23rd Annual “Hollywood Film Awards.” Banderas will receive the “Hollywood Actor Award” for his poignant turn in Pedro Almodóvar's 21st film, “Pain and Glory” and Zellweger will receive the “Hollywood Actress Award” for her powerful portrayal of the iconic Judy Garland in Rupert Goold's “Judy.” Pacino will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actor Award” for his brilliant depiction of the infamous Jimmy Hoffa in Martin Scorsese's mob masterpiece “The Irishman,” and Dern will receive the “Hollywood Supporting Actress Award” for her commanding performance as a hard-hitting divorce attorney in Noah Baumbach's “Marriage Story.” Actor and comedian Rob Riggle will host the ceremony, which will take place on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA.

The 63rd BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express is thrilled to announce that The Irishman will be this year's Closing Night Gala, which is directed by one of the true giants of cinema Martin Scorsese and starring Academy Award winners Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. The Festival is delighted to be bringing the work of this iconic filmmaker to the UK for its International Premiere on Sunday 13 October in London, with Martin Scorsese and cast expected to attend. The BFI London Film Festival is also pleased to announce that there will be simultaneous preview screenings of The Irishman taking place at cinemas across the UK.

The Irishman will be released in select theaters and on Netflix later this year.

According to Deadline.com, writer Billy Ray will pen the script for Universal Pictures' Sinatra, a film about the life of performer Frank Sinatra. The movie will be directed by Martin Scorsese and produced by Scott Rudin, Peter Guber and Cathy Schulman, Sikelia and Tina Sinatra.

According to MTV Movie Blog, Al Pacino will join Robert DeNiro and Joe Pesci in 'The Irishman', an upcoming film about Frank Sheeran. The film, which revolves around Sheeran's murder of Jimmy Hoffa, is being adapted from Charles Brandt's 'I Heard You Paint Houses' by Steve Zailian. Martin Scorsese is set to direct the film. Production will begin next year.
