Audience members at the smash hit musical Kinky Boots were in for a special treat last night, when Sky, the Wire Fox Terrier who was named 'Best in Show' at the Westminster Dog Show earlier this week, made a surprise appearance in the Tony Award-winning show. Kinky Boots stars Billy Porter, Stark Sands and Annaleigh Ashford and more joined the show's Tony Award-winning composer Cyndi Lauper for a special one-night-only True Colors Cabaret, last night, December 16th at Birdland (315 W 44th St). Lauper joined the cast of Kinky Boots to perform an eclectic array of standards, pop hits and other songs, with musical direction by the show's Tony Award-winning orchestrator Stephen Oremus.

Singing traditional and original holiday songs, this annual holiday music CD benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA), one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations. As a response to some nasty tweets in reaction to the Kinky Boots Macy's Thanksgiving Parade performance, stars Billy Porter and Stark Sands went shopping in between shows in their Finale costumes at Macy's for Black Friday. This morning, the Supreme Court declared that legislation which says marriage must be between a man and a woman is unconstitutional, thus allowing homosexual couples to receive the same benefits as heterosexual couples. The Court also struck down California's Proposition 8. The decision comes after the Court held hearings about the legality of the state's gay marriage ban in March. The decision will now allow gay marriage to resume in California, however it does not legalize it in other states. The cast of Kinky Boots took the show's message to heart and celebrated today's news backstage. Check out their creation below!
