David Javerbaum's AN ACT OF GOD arrives in Charlotte with new topicality, a mostly new Ten Commandments, and some rollicking alternative facts.

RSC Artistic Director, Gregory Doran, announces today the winter 2017 season in Stratford-upon-Avon and reveals plans for RSC Next Generation, a new long-term talent development programme to give up to 100 young people each year from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to develop a career in the theatre.

Paper Mill Playhouse, recipient of the 2016 Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents the comedy by Ken Ludwig, A Comedy of Tenors, the hilarious sequel to the Tony Award-winning comedy Lend Me a Tenor. Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST), in association with The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, has announced SPILL, written and directed by Leigh Fondakowski (The Laramie Project, The People's Temple).

Dreamed up just a few weeks ago by our country's theatrical luminaries, this initiative was a response to the apprehension many in our arts communities were feeling. The project's aim: to provide safe spaces for those feeling scared, marginalized, or actively attacked.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, announced today its 2017 season.

Playwrights Horizons will soon present THE LIGHT YEARS, the world premiere of a new play written by Drama Desk Award winner Hannah Bos (The Open House, Jacuzzi, Blood Play, Buddy Cop 2) and Obie Award winner Paul Thureen (Jacuzzi, Blood Play, Buddy Cop 2), directed and developed by Obie Award winner Oliver Butler (Jacuzzi, The Open House, Blood Play), made by The Debate Society. The production will be the fourth production of the theater company's 2016/2017 Season.

TheaterWorks (Rob Ruggiero, Producing Artistic Director) announced exciting casting news today for the theater's upcoming production of NEXT TO NORMAL. Tony nominated Christiane Noll will play Diana and David Harris will play Dan in the Pulitzer Prize winning drama (Music by Tom Kitt / Book and Lyrics by Brian Yorkey). Rob Ruggiero will direct.

Circle Theatre opens its 36th Season with Who Am I This Time? (& Other Conundrums of Love), by Aaron Posner, adapted from stories by Kurt Vonnegut (Music by James Sugg). 

MCC Theater has announced a one-night-only benefit reading of Neil LaBute's play, Fat Pig, directed by LaBute, to be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 7PM at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street).

After much buzz and anticipation, the 2016 BroadwayWorld South Bend Awards finally came to a close last week with the announcement of 8 winners in 8 different categories. The BroadwayWorld Audience Choice Awards happen across the country, with thousands participating in nominating and voting for their favorites in their own theatre communities.

THE ROAD THEATRE COMPANY and Taylor Gilbert, Founder/Artistic Director together with Sam Anderson, Artistic Director, are thrilled to present the third show of its 2016-2017 season, the West Coast premiere of LITTLE CHILDREN DREAM OF GOD, written by Jeff Augustin and directed by Andre Barron.  LITTLE CHILDREN DREAM OF GOD will begin previews on Tuesday, February 21 at 8pm; will open on Thursday, February 23 at 8pm and run through Saturday, April 15 at the Road Theatre Company's second home, The Road on Magnolia, located in The NoHo Senior Arts Colony, 10747 Magnolia Blvd. in North Hollywood.

Due to popular pre-sale demand, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will add an additional week of performances for THE REAL THING, Tom Stoppard's (The Coast of Utopia, Arcadia, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) timeless comedy about an all-too-witty playwright who succumbs to the emotional ravages he puts his characters through. Timothy Near ("Master Harold"…and the boys) returns to Aurora to helm this Tony Award-winner for Best Play (1984) and Best Revival of a Play (2000), featuring Elijah Alexander, Liz Sklar, Carrie Paff (This Is How It Goes, A Delicate Balance, Collapse),Tommy Gorrebeeck (The Monster-Builder, The Eccentricities of a Nightingale), Seann Gallagher, and Emily Radosevich. THE REAL THING now plays through March 5th (added performances: Tuesday, February 28, 7pm; Wednesday, March 1, 8pm; Thursday, March 2, 8pm; Friday, March 3, 8pm; Saturday, March 4, 8pm; Sunday, March 5, 2pm, 7pm) at the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley. Independent Shakespeare Co. (ISC), presenters of the Griffith Park Free Shakespeare Festival announce a month long series of unique events and workshops to celebrate the art of theater making. ISC's iambic lab begins on Saturday, January 28, with a reading of a new version by Charles Edward Pogue of Henrik Ibsen's THE PRETENDERS, and will end on Saturday, February 25 with a preview of ISC's upcoming West Coast premiere production of Sharr White's THE SNOW GEESE. All events are at Independent Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village.

Utah Repertory Theater will present its first play of the 2017 season with the Utah premiere of The Other Place.

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for its revival of Steve Martin's clever and crowd-pleasing comedy hit Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
