Bailiwick Chicago will launch its 2014-15 season with the Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical THE WILD PARTY, with music and lyrics by Michael John LaChiusa, book by LaChiusa and George C. Wolfe, based on the 1928 poem by Joseph Moncure March, directed and choreographed by Brenda Didier, with musical direction by Aaron Benham*. THE WILD PARTY will play October 2 - November 1, 2014 at the Victory Gardens Richard Christiansen Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago. Tickets are currently on sale at www.victorygardens.org, by calling (773) 871-3000 or in-person at the Victory Gardens Box Office. The press opening is Sunday, October 5 at 7 pm.

CHICAGO launched their big U.S. summer tour this past weekend with two triumphant shows in California with REO Speedwagon, who will be performing two dozen shows together through September 9. The CHICAGO-REO tour launched July 31 at the Concord Pavilion just outside San Francisco and hit a capacity Greek Theatre in Los Angeles Friday, August 1.

Tickets go on sale August 1 at 12 p.m. Entrance to the Fringe Festival, called Chicago's 'Best Performing Arts Festival,' by the Chicago Reader, is a one-time button purchase of $5, after that all individual performances are $10. Passes with a discounted ticket price are available when attending multiple performances: five-show pass is $45, ten-show pass is $80 and an unlimited pass is $175. Each venue will have a box office for day-of purchase and the box office for the entire Festival is located at Fringe Central, 4780 N. Milwaukee Ave, Fischman's Liquors. After a powerful opening of THE JUNGLE last weekend, Oracle Productions announces a world-premiere play to be performed at Chicago Fringe 2014. Zachary Baker-Salmon adapts and directs THIS HOUSE BELIEVES THE AMERICAN DREAM IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE AMERICAN NEGRO, which introduces Public Access Theatre to audiences at the popular festival. Featuring Johnard Washington as James Baldwin and Company Member Jeremy Clark as William F. Buckley, Jr., THIS HOUSE BELIEVES... opens on August 28, 2014, at 7PM and runs for a total of 7 performances during the festival.

This one-night-only event brought together friends of Chicago theatre and raised $120,000 for programs to support Chicago's 240 member theatre companies. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) celebrated the enduring vitality of Shakespeare on Monday, June 16 with GALA 2014 at its home on Navy Pier, raising nearly $1.2 million for Chicago Shakespeare in Urban Communities. Three hundred and fifty of Chicago's civic, corporate and cultural leaders attended the event benefitting CST's civic engagement and education initiatives, including the citywide summer tradition Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks and Team Shakespeare education programs. The evening culminated in the presentation of the fourth annual Spirit of Shakespeare Awards to this year's Civic Honoree, The Boeing Company and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Greg Smith and his wife Denise, and Artistic Honoree, Chicago theater legend Mike Nussbaum.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association announces the 2014/15 season programming for its acclaimed MusicNOW contemporary music series—dedicated to showcasing contemporary music through an innovative concert experience. Uniquely curated by CSO Mead Composers-In-Residence Mason Bates and Anna Clyne, the annual, four-concert series in 2014/15 presents a range of work from major musical figures such as Pierre Boulez and established contemporary talents such as John Luther Adams and Michael Gordon. Programs are performed by members of the CSO and guest artists led by MusicNOW principal conductor Cliff Colnot and guest conductors, which this year includes James Feddeck, winner of the 2013 Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award.
