Priscilla Queen Of The DeserT, presented on Broadway by 'The Divine Miss M,' producer Bette Midler, will perform on the first live premiere results show of season 6 of NBC's hit summer talent competition series 'America's Got Talent.' Tony-nominee Will Swenson will lead the cast in a diva-tastic medley of some of Priscilla's most popular songs - 'Finally,' 'Shake Your Groove Thing,' and 'MacArthur Park' - featuring the show's trademark 2011 Tony-winning costumes designed by Oscar and Tony-winning designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner.

In the 2010-2011 season, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT was honored with three Best Musical award nominations from the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award organizations. Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon has also received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical in addition to Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations and the Theatre World Award for outstanding Broadway debut. Sheldon was also honored with a Tony nomination as were costume designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner, who took home the prize.
In celebration of the nominations, the company took the stage at the 2011 Tony Awards on Sunday with a performance of 'It's Raining Men' with the song's composer Paul Shaffer and original songstress Martha Wash. PRISCILLA ensemble member Thom Allison grabbed some backstage shots of the crew as they prepped for their performance and BroadwayWorld brings you a look backstage below!

As previously reported, the cast of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT will be performing the show stopper 'It's Raining Men' at the Tony Awards ceremony on Sunday, June 12. The performance will be broadcast as part of the ceremony on CBS. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the rehearsal run with special guest performers Paul Shaffer (who wrote the tune) and Martha Wash (the song's original songstress). The 2011 Tony Award nominees were announced live from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts in New York City on Tuesday, May 3, 2011. The next day, proud nominees gathered at the Millenium Hotel in Times Square to celebrate and meet the press. Broadway Beat was on hand, of course, to speak with all of the proud nominees. Below, we bring you Tony Sheldon, Best Lead Actor in a Musical nominee for Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Sheldon has played more than 1200 performances as Bernadette in Priscilla in Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, the West End and Toronto. He won the Green Room Award, Best Male Artist In A Leading Role, and was nominated for an Olivier Award for the part. Additionally, Sheldon won the 2005 Helpmann Award, the Sydney Critics Award, the Mo Award and the Glugs Award for his performance as Roger de Bris in The Producers. He was also nominated for a Helpmann and a Green Room Award for his performance in The Witches of Eastwick. He wrote and directed The Times Of My Life at the Ensemble Theatre and the Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

The first winners of the Toronto Theatre Critics' Awards - decided by John Coulbourn (the Toronto Sun), Richard Ouzounian (the Toronto Star), Robert Cushman (the National Post), and Kelly Nestruck (the Globe and Mail) - were announced today. Among the winners were Tony Sheldon, now Tony-nominated for PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, and SOUTH PACIFIC, which was produced by Lincoln Center Theatre.
