Searchlight Pictures has just dropped the new trailer for the upcoming film Kinds of Kindness, releasing on June 21. Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable, following a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life; a policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing-at-sea has returned and seems a different person; and a woman determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.

Portland Center Stage’s 2024-2025 season will kick off in September with Stephen Sondheim’s spooky musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Learn more about the full lineup here!

Writer, director, and comedian Julio Torres spins a fantastical six-part tale of when he lost a gold oyster earring. In his search to find the precious object, Julio reflects on the offbeat characters he encounters in introspective, often eerie, and always comedic vignettes set in a dreamy, alternate version of New York City. The people he encounters as he searches for it and the musings he has become points of departure for little films along the way, as Torres navigates weaving in and out of these introspective, often eerie comedic stories.
