According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Miami International Film Festival will debut the final film which featured the late actor, River Phoenix. DARK BLOOD was reported to be 80% finished when the actor passed away in 1993. It is believed that the footage had 'disappeared into a vault' until now. In 1999, Sluizer saved the film from destruction. The footage sat for more than 10 Years until the director took it upon himself to complete it. It premiered at last year's Dutch Film Festival. Dark Blood is a film of legend, one of Hollywood's great mysteries," said MIFF executive director Jaie Laplante. "The tragic loss of River Phoenix's outstanding talent is still profoundly felt 20 years later. We are proud that George Sluizer has honored Miami as the place to finally share his remarkable collaboration with Phoenix and the other great artists involved with Dark Blood." |
