Will Ferrell to Star in Justin Theroux's SWEAR TO GOD

As first reported on Deadline.com, Justin Theroux will rewrite and direct Warner Bros. upoming comedy SWEAR TO GOD starring Will Ferrell and Steve Carell. Gary Sanchez will produce.

Ferrell's character in the film is described as "a narcissistic hedge fund manager who thinks he has seen God." The actor is currently filming "Anchorman 2" in which he will reprise his role as newscaster Ron Burgundy. Carell can currently be seen in Hope Springs, starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. 

Ferrell appeared on Broadway in the hugely successful comedic play, 'You're Welcome America, A Final Evening With George W Bush.' The production received a Tony nomination for Best Special Theatrical Event and was broadcast live on HBO. His film credits include Old School, Elf, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Stranger than Fiction, Blades of Glory, Semi-Pro, and The Other Guys. 

Theroux, who's writing credits include the film Tropic Thunder, has appeared on stage in The Three Sisters and Shopping and F**king.
