Showbiz411 reports that Tommy Lee Jones is set to direct Meryl Streep and her daughter, Grace Gummer in the upcoming film THE HOMESMAN, beginning production this spring. The actresses will join additional castmembers Hilary Swank, Mirando Otto, and Tim Blake Nelson on the film.
The news was revealed by the director during this year's Oscar's ceremony. When asked what was next on his plate Jones told the site's Roger Friedman, "Horses, and the fresh air. I guess they're going to call this movie a western, The Homesman. It's more than that."
The project is not the first time the Academy Award winning actor has taken on directing duties. In 2005 he helmed the critically-acclaimed, "Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada."
Grace Gummer's film and TV credits include "Larry Crowne,"and "Gigantic." She will soon be seen on the big screen in "Frances Ha" opposite Greta Gerwig and Mickey Sumner. The actress starred in the 2011 Broadway production of "Arcadia."
