According to ET Online, Tom Cruise has postponed today's premiere of his new film Jack Reacher out of respect for the families of the victims of yesterday's school shooting in Connecticut.
"Due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown Connecticut, and out of honor and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing tomorrow's Pittsburgh premiere of Jack Reacher," Paramount Pictures said in a statement released yesterday. "Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones."

The film opens in theaters on December 21. Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the story is based on the Lee Child character and stars Cruise, Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, Robert Duvall, Jai Courtney, and Werner Herzog. Jack Reacher was written by Josh Olson and McQuarrie.
