As first reported on EWonline, comedian Tina Fey is currently in talks to produce a feature film based on the 'Fancy Nancy' children's book series.
Filmmaker Shawn Levy has already signed on to produce the upcoming project and Fey is in negotiations to join him. The 'Fancy Nancy' storybooks feature a little girl named Nancy who "likes to say “bonjour” instead of “hi,” is obsessed with extreme dress-up, and attempts to bedazzle the boring, plain world around her." She even manages to warm the hearts of her biggest critics.
The series was written by author Jane O'Connor and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. 20th Century Fox this week optioned to bring the storybook to the big screen as a live-action feature film.
Fey wrote the 2004 hit movie 'Mean Girls'. She is not expected to take an acting role in the upcoming film should she decide to produce.
