THE SWITCH, JACKIE BROWN
According to Variety, Will Forte and Tim Robbins have signed on to the pseudo-pr
equel to Quentin Tarantino's JACKIE BROWN, THE SWITCH. The two actors will reportedly replace Ty Burrell and Dennis Quaid, who recently dropped out of the film.
The two join previously announced Jennifer Aniston, John Hawkes, Yasiin Bey and Isla Fisher. SWITCH is based upon Elmore Leonard's 1978 novel, which was a sequel to RUM PUNCH, in which JACKIE BROWN was in turn based upon.
Aniston will take on the role of Mickey Dawson, the wife of a corrupt real estate dealer in Detroit. In the film, she is kidnapped by two ex-cons, Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie, who will be portrayed by actors John Hawkes and Mos Def respectively. When her husband refuses to pay the randsom, she joins forces with her captors to get her revenge.
The film will be produced by Author Leonard, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Lee Stollman and Michael Siegel. The script was written by Dan Schechter who will also direct the film.
