The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents following events in the month of November:

"Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992)
Thursday, November 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Samuel Goldwyn Theater
8949 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills

The Science and Technology Council of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present a 20th anniversary screening of director Francis Ford Coppola's "Bram Stoker's Dracula." Hosted by Variety tech columnist David S. Cohen, the evening features the premiere of a newly struck print courtesy of Sony Pictures and the Academy Film Archive and an onstage discussion with members of the film's crew, including Academy Award®-winning makeup artists Greg Cannom, Michèle Burke and Matthew W. Mungle, and Academy Award-winning sound effects editors Tom C. McCarthy and David E. Stone.

Largely set in London during the waning years of the Victorian Era, "Bram Stoker's Dracula" follows the conflicted vampire, played by Gary Oldman, as he searches for the reincarnation of his long-lost love and leaves behind a trail of victims. The creative team's visual and sound integration efforts were rewarded Oscars® for Costume Design, Makeup and Sound Effects Editing, as well as a nomination for Art Direction.

Alfred Hitchcock's "The Ring" (1927)
Thursday, November 29, at 7:30 p.m.
Samuel Goldwyn Theater
8949 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will present the U.S. premiere of Alfred Hitchcock's silent feature "The Ring," restored by the British Film Institute National Archive in association with STUDIOCANAL. "The Ring" is Hitchcock's only original screenplay, although he worked extensively with other writers throughout his career. This restoration of Hitchcock's sixth film as a director premiered at Cannes this year and played at the London 2012 Festival, 12 weeks of events programmed to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is part of the BFI's larger restoration project "Rescue the Hitchcock 9," a major campaign to restore all nine surviving silent films by the legendary director. The Academy screening will be from a digital cinema package (DCP) and features a newly composed and performed score by British jazz and hip hop musician Soweto Kinch and the Soweto Kinch Septet.

"The Ring" is a love triangle melodrama set in the world of boxing, a milieu that fascinated Hitchcock. The title of the film refers not just to the boxing ring, but to the wedding ring that unites up-and-coming contender Jack "One Round" Sander (Carl Brisson) and his girlfriend Mabel (Lilian Hall Davis), and to the threat to their relationship symbolized by an arm bracelet given to Mabel by a rival boxer.
