TWILIGHT-SKYFALL-Top-Thanksgiving-Weekend-Box-Office-20121125

Rentrak Corporation, the global leader in box office measurement, today announced the worldwide weekend box office estimates for the weekend of November 25, 2012 as compiled by the company's Box Office Essentials™ and International Box Office Essentials theatrical measurement services.

Rentrak's President of Theatrical Worldwide, Ron Giambra commented, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 continues at No. 1 worldwide, with an estimated weekend gross of $140.6 million from 74 markets. The worldwide cume now stands at $577.8 million. Lionsgate has now surpassed the $1 billion mark internationally and domestically.

After its raking this weekend, Sony's SKYFALL has officially become the highest-grossing James Bond film in the franchise's history (without accounting for inflation.) It earned $51 million over the five-day period and $36 million this weekend alone, its gross total now at just over $220 million.

As less predicted, Steven Spielberg's LINCOLN overcame the numerous blockbusters that opened this week to claim the third spot, securing $34 million since opening in over 2,000 theaters this week. For Friday through Sunday, the presidential biopic made $25 million. The DreamWorks and Disney film now sits at just over $60 million since the highly-acclaimed film has opened in more theaters over the past two weeks.

The top-12 domestic weekend box office estimates listed in descending order, per data collected as of Sunday, November 25, 2012 are below.
