The Fish Child (El Niño Pez ), the latest film from celebrated Argentine director Lucia Puenzo (XXY), debuts on DVD July 26th from Wolfe Video. Puenzo's new film tells a gripping tale of forbidden lesbian romance and a crime heist gone awry that boasts beautiful cinematography and electrifying performances from its two female leads: Inés Efron, winner of multiple awards for her role in XXY, and Argentine pop star turned actress, Mariela Vitale - aka Emme -winner of multiple awards for her role in The Fish Child. The movie also stars Carlos Bardem, brother of Javier Bardem.

Based on Lucia Puenzo's international hit novel by the same name, The Fish Child was an official selection of the Berlin and Tribeca Film Festivals; as well as it was featured at dozens of festivals on the LGBT festival circuit. The DVD will feature an entertaining "making of" featurette.

SYNOPSIS:
Lala (Ines Efron), a teenager from the most exclusive suburban neighborhood in Buenos Aires, is in love with Guayi, her family's 20-year-old Paraguayan maid (Mariela Vitale). The girls hatch a plan to rob Lala's family to fund their dream of living together in Paraguay, at the shores of lake Ypoá. But while Lala waits to be reunited with her lover in Ypoá, Guayi is detained in the outskirts of Buenos Aires for a crime she committed long ago. Desperate to be with her girlfriend, Lala hatches a dangerous rescue plan to get her back.
