Susan Boyle Brings Big Ratings To America's Got Talent Finale

Susan Boyle jetted over to the United States to perform on the America's Got Talent finale show last night, September 16, 2009. The beloved Boyle performed a stirring and emotional version of The Rolling Stones classic "Wild Horses" and her appearance brought in big ratings for the season finale.

NBC scored 14.7 million viewers and a 9.1 rating/15 share in households for the night, more than doubling the audience for its nearest competitor. CBS finished second with 6.21 million viewers and a 4.2/7, slightly ahead of FOX's 6.16 million and 3.9/6. ABC (4.6 million, 2.8/5) came in fourth. The CW trailed with 2.1 million viewers and a 1.5/3.

The show named singer Kevin Skinner the winner of the fourth season of the talent competition.

Susan Boyle, who became a worldwide overnight singing sensation after appearing on the Britain's Got Talent television show has launched her new official website,www.susanboylemusic.com. The site has several news features including images and video for all Boyle fans to savor as they await her upcoming new record.

Her upcoming debut album, 'I DREAMED A DREAM', has it the number one spot on Amazon.com's best sellers list. Her long-awaited album - including pop ballads and show tunes - is due for release on November 24rd, 2009.

As expected, Susan Boyle was an audience favorite on the Britain's Got Talent tour, the singer received a huge ovation the minute she hit the stage. Boyle set consisted of her signature song, "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables, and "Memory" the famous CATS hit.

Susan Boyle wowed the judges with her performance in the auditions for last season of Britains Got Talent, singing "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables. Boyle, who's "nearly 48," talked about her cat, and joked around with the judges, noting that she had "never been kissed." The entire audience prepared for the worst as she began her song, but, once she starting singing the crowd and judges were transported by her emotional and theatrical take on the number!

With the talent search open to acts of all ages, "America's Got Talent" has brought the variety format back to the forefront of American culture by showcasing performers from across the country. The series is a true celebration of the American spirit featuring a colorful array of hopeful stars, including singers, dancers, comedians, contortionists, impressionists, jugglers, magicians and ventriloquists, all vying for their chance to strut and perform on stage hoping to win America's hearts -- and the $1 million prize.
