A massive amount of activity is slated to celebrate this week's release of Summit Entertainment/Chop Shop/Atlantic's eagerly awaited "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK." The album arrives in stores and on all online retailers today, Tuesday, November 8th; Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 opens in theatres nationwide on November 18th.

"THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" features new tracks from an extraordinary selection of artists, including Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter/musician/producer Bruno Mars, Christina Perri, The Joy Formidable, The Belle Brigade, Iron & Wine, Theophilus London, and Mia Maestro (who co-stars in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 as Carmen Denali of the Denali Coven).

The soundtrack recently had its world premiere via The Twilight Saga's official Facebook page, located at www.facebook.com/twilight. The 24-hour stream began October 29th at 7:30 am PT, just as dawn broke over Forks, Washington, renowned around the world as the setting for The Twilight Saga.

Bruno Mars' "It Will Rain," the recently released first single from "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," is quickly proving to be a sensation. The track is currently blowing up on multi-format radio outlets nationwide, coming in this week as a top 15 favorite on the Top 40 airplay charts, top 20 at Hot AC, and top 25 at CHR/Rhythmic outlets. "It Will Rain" has also climbed to #12 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart this week. MTV is set to premiere the track's companion video exclusively this Wednesday, November 9th at 7:56pm ET. Immediately following at 8pm ET, "It Will Rain" will premiere on MTV.com, MTV Hits and mtvU. The video will also go into rotation the following morning during AMTV.

Furthermore, a series of other videos accompanying songs found on the soundtrack have debuted in recent weeks. The companion video for Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years" has begun airing across a range of MTV platforms, including MTV, VH1, MTV Hits, MTV.com, mtvU, VH1.com (http://youtu.be/rtOvBOTyX00), while an exclusive studio rendition of Iron & Wine's "Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version)" recently premiered exclusively on VH1.com (http://youtu.be/oIHaNh3jRXg). Finally, a lyric video for The Belle Brigade's "I Didn't Mean It," which premiered on RollingStone.com, can be viewed now as well (http://youtu.be/FXn1TonSmFc).

Many of the artists included on "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" have scheduled high profile TV appearances to mark the soundtrack's arrival. The schedule will begin with two nights of performances on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, with The Belle Brigade slated to perform "I Didn't Mean It" on Monday, November 14th and Christina Perri set to perform "A Thousand Years" on Tuesday, November 15th (check local listings). Next up, Bruno Mars will join members of the film's cast on the nationally syndicated The Ellen Degeneres Show for a very special performance of "It Will Rain," scheduled to air Friday, November 18th.

"THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" follows three previous Twilight Saga soundtrack collections. Released in November 2008, "TWILIGHT - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" topped the Billboard 200 chart upon its release, marking the largest debut for an Atlantic Records soundtrack since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON - ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" proved equally successful, topping the Billboard 200 in its first full week at retail in October of 2009. Combined, all three Twilight soundtracks have sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide and have remained on Billboard's "Top 100 Soundtracks" chart since being released.
Chop Shop Music Supervision owner Alexandra Patsavas (Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl) returns as Producer/Music Supervisor on "THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN - PART 1 ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK," having worked closely with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 director Bill Condon in compiling the tracklisting. Paul Katz of Eye2Ear Music serves as both the producer of the album as well as Summit's point person on film-related music and soundtracks.

The hugely anticipated next chapter of The Twilight Saga will be released as two separate films, with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 slated for release on November 18th, 2011 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 due on November 16th, 2012. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon directed both films, which star Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. Both The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 are based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, with the screenplays penned by Melissa Rosenberg, and Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.
