According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran Stanley Tucci has signed on to star as the title character in 'Ed Lucas.' Tucci will play 'a blind sports writer known for his work with the New York Yankees.' The film will feature a screenplay by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel.

Tucci recently directed the 2010 Broadway revival of Lend Me a Tenor. He has also appeared on Broadway in Frankie & Johnnie in the Clair de Lune. His film credits include The Lovely Bones, for which he received an Oscar nomination in 2012, Julie and Julia, with co-star Meryl Streep, and The Devil Wears Prada.
