Deadline reports that Sony Pictures and David Gordon Green are planning to adapt Laura Ingalls Wilder's classic book series LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE to a feature film. Abi Morgan (Shame, The Iron Lady) will pen the script. The nine-book series was first published in 1932 beginning with "Little House in the Big Woods", which told the story of Wilder's own recollections of growing up with her family in a log cabin in 1871. The second book was titled "Little House on the Prairie." The story was adapted into a television series which ran from 1974 to 1984. The series starred Michael Landon, and Melissa Gilbert as Laura Ingalls Wilder.Green, who will direct the film, most recently helmed The Sitter.
