Is Channing Tatum preparing to strip down to his skivvies once again? In a recent interview with Collider, Magic Mike helmer Steven Soderbergh addressed recent rumors that a sequel to the box office smash may be in the works.
"There's absolutely another movie to be made out of that," Soderbergh said. "There were a lot of ideas that didn't make it to the first one that we've had discussions about, and here's an opportunity to do some of these things that we couldn't get into the first one. While the director is clearly enthused by the prospect, he reveals that his involvement in a sequel will most likely be minimal. "I hope they do it, I'll help in whatever way I can," he commented. "I just don't want to be involved day-to-day. But I'm happy to in a sense be an executive producer and kind of weigh in on stuff."Film star Matthew McConaughey recently confirmed that he would be happy to return as club owner Dallas in a second film while Tatum told Digital Spy last summer he hoped the sequel would be "more of a comedy" than the first film.
