Sean Hayes to Star in Film Adaptation of 6 DANCE LESSONS IN 6 WEEKS

After yesterday's news that his pilot had been picked up by NBC, Deadline reports that Sean Hayes has signed a deal to star in the upcoming adaptation of 6 DANCE LESSONS IN 6 WEEKS. Based upon Richard Alfieri's Broadway play, Hayes will appear alongside Gena Rowlands.

The film, directed by Arthur Allan Seidelman, and written by Alfieri, follows an elderly woman (Rowlands) who hires a much younger - and much more energetic - dance instructor (Hayes) to give her one-on-one lessons for six weeks. Throughout the weeks and lessons , they develop an intimate friendship, putting aside their differences, and opening up to each other.

6 DANCE LESSONS IN 6 WEEKS opened on Broadway in 2003, and has since Gone on to become a regional and international hit with audiences.

Hayes will appear as a guest star in the coming season of NBC'sSMASH and works as producer on Grimm, Hot In Cleveland, Soul Man and Hollywood Game Night. He is also a regular on NBC's Up All Night.

Hayes has appeared on Broadway in 2010's Promises, Promises revival, alongside Kristin Chenoweth, and the Encores! concert production of Damn Yankees in 2008.
