STAGE TUBE: Director Adam Shankman On the Cast of ROCK OF AGES

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Director Adam Shankman discussed what it took to transform the Broadway musical Rock of Ages into a full-length feature film. Shankman also chats about his all-star cast which includes Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Julianne Hough, Malin Akerman and Tom Cruise.

Recalling the first time he heard the film's star Tom Cruise sing the director commented, “He sounded amazing. And within one lesson his range broadened as he opened up. I opened the door, and I was like a 15-year-old girl, I was screaming and jumping up and down and going, ‘Oh my god this is going to work.’ ” Check out the interview below!

New Line Cinema's adaptation of the smash hit Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES hits theaters today, June 15th. The film tells the story of small town girl Sherrie and city boy Drew, who meet on the Sunset Strip while pursuing their Hollywood dreams.
