Variety reports that comedian Russell Brand will join the cast of Paramount Picture's upcoming film THE HAUNTREPRENEUR. The film will be produced by Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller through their company Platinum Dunes.
The film will tell the story of a family who is in the process of adjusting to life in a new town. Brand's character, the 'Hauntrepreneur' attempts to pave the way for them by offering to build them a haunted house filled with colorful characters.
The script was penned by Scott Rosenberg, who wrote the screenplays for 'Con Air' and 'High Fidelity'. No further casting has been announced.
Brand was most recent films include 'Arthur' and 'Hop'. He is set to star in the highly anticipated big screen version of the Broadway hit 'Rock of Ages' opposite Tom Cruise, Julianne Hough, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary J. Blige. Brand will also appear in the upcoming film 'Rentaghost'.
