
According to The Telegraph, a remake of the 1939 classic 'The Wizard of Oz' starring Judy Garland is in the works. Executives at Warner Bros are considering two distinct projects at this time.
From The Telegraph: "The first is Oz, produced by the team behind the Twilight franchise and aimed at the teen market."
"The second, as-yet-untitled film has a darker tone and moves the action closer to the present day, with Dorothy's granddaughter returning to Oz to fight the forces of evil. The script has been written by Josh Olson, whose previous credits include David Cronenberg's A History of Violence."

The 1939 film 'The Wizard of Oz' was directed by Victor Fleming. The movie featured Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr and Frank Morgan, with Billie Burke, Margaret Hamilton, Charles Grapewin, Clara Blandick and the Singer Midgets as the Munchkins.
