Radcliffe, Kazan to Star in Indie Comedy THE F WORD

Radcliffe-Kazan-20010101

Variety reports that Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan will star in the indie romantic comedy THE F WORD from No Trace Camping. The "f" in the title refers to the "friend" zone. Michael Dowse will direct the film with a script from Elan Mastai. David Gross, Jesse Shapira, Marc Stephenson and Hartley Gorenstein will produce with Dowse and Jeff Arkuss executive producing.

THE F WORD will follow Radcliffe's character as he attempts to be the "first male to have a successfully platonic relationship with a girl he likes (Kazan), only to find out she's already in a relationship." The film is based on the play "Toothpaste and Cigars" by T.J. Dawe and Michael Rinaldi. Production is set to begin August 15 in Toronto.

Radcliffe was recently seen on the big screen in the supernatural thriller, "The Woman In Black." He rose to international fame starring as the title character in "Harry Potter," the highest grossing film series of all time. Radcliffe starred in Broadway's recent revival of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING. He also appeared in EQUUS in 2008.

Kazan made her New York stage debut in the Off-Broadway revival of 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie'. Other Off-Broadway work includes Things We Want, and 100 Saints You Should Know, for which she received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Play and a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Outstanding Featured Actress.

The actress made her Broadway debut in a revival of William Inge's Come Back, Little Sheba. Following that role, she was named the recipient of the 2008 Derwent Award. She returned to Broadway in the New York adaptation of the London hit The Seagull. Also a playwright, Zoe's family drama, Absalom, was produced at the 2009 Humana Festival at the Actor's Theater of Louisville. A second play, 'We Live Here' was commissioned by the Manhattan Theater Club where it played last year. Her film work includes "Revolutionary Road," "It's Complicated," "In the Valley of Elah," and "Me and Orson Welles.
