
Adam Shankman's ROCK OF AGES, which opened last weekend has officially brought in $19,360,137 million in its opening week, according to Boxofficemojo. As Broadwayworld previously reported, the musical earned $14.4 million in its opening weekend, far behind the debuts of Hairspray (also directed by Shankman) and Universal's Mamma Mia!, which opened with more than $25 million each. The movie took third place (behind Madagascar 3 and Prometheus), having the sixth-highest opening ever for a musical.
