Pierce-Brosnan-Celebrates-the-Kick-Off-of-Cinemagic-International-Film-Festival-for-Young-People-20010101

Pierce Brosnan attended the VIP Opening LA Event of Cinemagic Los Angeles Film and Television Festival for Young People on Feb 20th, 2012. The event took place at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows at which the action packed 6-day program of events was officially launched. This is Pierce’s second year supporting the event. Attendees heard from Pierce Brosnan, Cinemagic Chief Executive, Joan Burney Keatings and 10 teenagers from Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland who performed numerous musical numbers and spoke about their individual passions for entertainment.

Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People, based in Belfast (Northern Ireland), is an award winning charity that embraces the magic of film, television and digital technologies to educate, motivate and inspire young people through the medium of workshops, film screenings and industry led masterclasses.

Established in 1989, with the first Festival in 1990, Cinemagic has grown and expanded beyond all expectations. In addition to Belfast’s annual Festival in November, festival events are now delivered in Dublin (Ireland), Glasgow (Scotland), Nottingham (England) and Castres, (France) and the USA since 2010.

Designed for and by young people, the Cinemagic program caters for 4 – 25 year olds through an array of preview screenings, workshops for schools, themed film events, Q&A sessions, a Young Filmmaker Competition, a Festival Jury and masterclasses in various aspects of television and filmmaking. There is a public screening program in the Belfast and Dublin Festivals that is open to everyone regardless of age.

Industry professionals that have supported the Cinemagic Festival include Aardman Animation, Brian Cox, Brian Freisinger, Christine Blundell, Ciaran Hinds, Colin Hanks, Dame Helen Mirren, Danny Boyle, David Arnold, David Parfitt, David Perry, Dermot O’Leary, Gerard McSorley, Hamish Hamilton,  Jenny Beavan, Julian Fellowes, Kenneth Branagh, Liam Neeson, Lindy Hemming, Mark Kermode, Mike Hodges, Mike Leigh, Patrick Bergin, Pierce Brosnan, Ralph Fiennes, Ros and John Hubbard, Roy Disney, Sir Alan Parker, Stephen Rea, Stephen Warbeck, and The Jim Henson Company.
