Photo Flash: THE COUPLE Wins Award of Merit

The ensemble comedy short The Couple has won an "Award of Merit" from The Los Angeles Cinema Film Festival of Hollywood (www.hollywoodcff.com) and an "Award of Merit" from The Best Shorts Competition (www.thebestshorts.net). Juliette Bennett was also awarded "Best Actress" for The Couple at The Manhattan Film Festival (www.manhattanfilmfestival.org)

Directed by Alison Chernick (Matthew Barney: No Restraint, The Jeff Koons Show), The Couple stars Juliette Bennett (www.juliettebennett.com), Ken Forman (Boardwalk Empire, Twilight Zone) and Angela Dee (Woman's Picture, www.angeladee.com).

Last month, San Francisco's BAFF Film Festival (www.thebestactors.com) awarded Juliette Bennett its "Best Actor in a Comedy" and "Best Actor in a Short Film" awards for her performance in The Couple.

The Couple will next screen at NYC's Anthology Film Archives on September 7th as part of the NewFilmakers Film Festival (www.newfilmakers.com).

Bennett just completed a feature film role in Don Peyote, "a psychedelic comedy about the end of the world" starring Dan Fogler (Balls of Fury), Wallace Shawn (Toy Story) and Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder). The film is co-directed by Michael Canzoniero (Wedding Bros) and Dan Fogler (Hysterical Psycho). Bennett recently reunited with Director Alison Chernick to film Molly and Lara with Marisa Ryan (Wet Hot American Summer, Brooklyn Lobster)

Bennett stars with Bill Connington (Zombie) and Anthony Haden-Guest (The Last Days of Disco) in the short film The Thornhills of Park Avenue, directed by Thomas Caruso (Zombie). It will be screened at Long Island Film Festival (www.lilfilm.com) on August 8th. The Thornhills of Park Avenue recently screened at The Gold Coast Film Festival (www.goldcoastfilmfestival.org) and the NYC Picture Start Film Festival (www.picturestartfilmfestival.com)
