Fri, Apr 27 - Symphony Orchestra Concert, 7:30pm, Helen Bader Concert Hall
Performing works by Brahms, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, Copland and Gershwin. This is Professor Margery Deutsch's final concert as Director of Orchestras at UWM. She is retiring in May after 28 years.
$12 general/$10 seniors, UWM faculty and staff/$8 non-UWM students/FREE for UWM students and all school orchestra students and directors with a school ID

Wed, May 2-Sun, May 6 - Mainstage Series: Three Sisters, 7:30pm Wed-Sat; 2pm Sun, Mainstage Theatre
By Anton Chekhov. Directed by Theatre faculty Rebecca Holderness. Adapted by Theatre student and 2012 graduate Fly Steffens with original score by Bill Barclay. Chekhov's classic play of missed desire, love and yearning set in the frozen landscape of Russia. A birthday cake stays untasted, a military band plays a farewell, the village burns and wolves can be heard in the nearby mountains as a shot rings out that changes everything and nothing.
Thursday, May 3rd - The show will be followed by a talk-back with play adapter Fly Steffens and Assistant Professor of Russian, Joe Peschio, PhD.
$17 general/$12 seniors and UWM faculty, staff and alumni/$10 student

The Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival presents La Ley del Deseo (Law of Desire), Pedro Almodóvar's 1987 melodrama of sexual attraction starring Antonio Banderas & Carmen Maura. Presented on 35mm. Co-Sponsored by PrideFest Milwaukee & Riviera Maya Restaurant.

Wed, May 2 - Artists Now: Beth Lipman - The Still Life Revisited, 7pm, Arts Center Lecture Hall - ACL 120
Lipman's still life projects reflect her ability to control material in the moment. Through this process, glass objects are made, composed, and reduced to a photograph before they are destroyed or recycled. Lipman will discuss the still life tradition, her own work, and other inspirations.
