Paramount Pictures has picked up Joel Silver's first film since he departed Warner Bros., SANCTUARY, Deadline reported tonight. The script was written by Alan Trezza, and Silver's Silver Pictures is set collaborate with Paramount.
SANCTUARY is a supernatural thriller, following a woman possessed by an evil, potentially demonic force - who flees to The Sanctuary, an organization run by the Vatican that instructs and trains those possessed to hone the demon inside and use it to fight evil. It's being billed as a "cross between WANTED and BLADE."
Joel Silver will also produce the flick alongside Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman. No casting or release date has been set by either studio.
