As first reported on Deadline.com, Melissa Leo has joined the cast of Universal Picture's futuristic film OBLIVION. Leo joins previously announced cast members Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough and Olga Kurylenko in the film directed by Joseph Kosinski.
Shooting on the upcoming movie has begun in Baton Rouge. Peter Chernin and Dylan Clark will produce along with Barry Levine and Kosinski. Michael Arndt rewrote the original script drafts by William Monahan and Karl Gajdusek.
Leo won a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her performance in 'The Fighter'. She will soon be seen on the big screen in Robert Zemeckis' 'Flight', directed by Denzel Washington and appear on TV in the upcoming third season of HBO's 'Treme'.
