Open Road May Distribute Ensemble JFK Assassination Flick PARKLAND

According to Deadline, Open Road Pictures is in talks to distribute the ensemble John F. Kennedy conspiracy flick, PARKLAND, while eyeing a Nov. 22 release - marking the 50th anniversary of the assassination.

With Tom Hanks producing, and Peter Landesman directing, the film is a recounting of the chaotic events that occurred at Dallas' Parkland Hospital in November of 1963. The cast currently includes Brett Stimely, Billy Bob Thornton, Marcia Gay Harden, Zac Efron, Paul Giamatti, and Jacki Weaver . Landesman penned the script based on Vincent Bugliosi 's award winning book, "Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy." Nigel Sinclair and Guy East are financing the film.

Hanks' Playtone, is currently producing Electric City (TV series short) and will head to Austin, TX to shoot PARKLAND in the coming weeks.
