Vulture reports that a new film featuring the Muppets is in the works however writer Jason Segel will not be involved in the project.
The Muppets director James Bobin and co-writer Nicolas Stoller will pen the sequel to the recent hit movie starring the furry puppets. Segel, who currently stars in the CBS comedy 'How I Met Your Mother' is reportedly too busy to collaborate on the upcoming film due to TV and movie committments. The actor will soon appear in the 'Five Year Engagement' and 'This Is Forty', both scheduled to be released in theaters in the coming months.
Segel and Stoller approached Disney in 2008 with the idea of reviving the Muppet characters into a feature length film. No word yet on whether Segel will appear as an actor in the sequel.
