New Filmmakers NY's Spring 2012 series presents "i am Julia...caught in the Bully's lair" on May 8 at 6 p.m. at the Anthology Film Archives, located at 32 Second Avenue & 2nd Street in New York City.
Julia, a 16 year old Colombian immigrant, recently matriculated into the inner city public high school system and finds herself as a fish out of water. Julia must fend off bullies and a language barrier as Karma takes it's toll.
i am Julia won a 2012 Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival. There will be a reception following the screening.
