
Peggy Cafferty of Dahooma Productions and Matthew Bonifacio of Goodface Films announced that casting is underway on the upcoming comedy Not For Nothing. Thomas Ian Nicholas (Please Give), Mike Starr (Black Dynamite), Andrea Martin (Breaking Upwards) and Dominic Fumusa (Nurse Jackie) are already set to star. Filming will begin September in New York City. Not For Nothing will be directed by Matthew Bonifacio (Lbs.), with a script written by Anthony Tutrone, Michael Lombino, Stephen Lombino and Michael Lucas (The Bronx is Burning). Anthony Tutrone will also executive produce along with Albert Cheong and Ian Harris.
Not For Nothing is a follow your dreams comedy about Steve (Thomas Ian Nicholas), a first generation Italian-American whose ambition to become a head chef goes against his father¹s (Mike Starr) blue-collar wishes. Unfortunately, Steve doesn¹t have a culinary degree so his dream quickly
hits a brick wall, and in order to pay the bills he takes a job with a package delivery service. Initially embarrassed by his new 9-to-5 existence, Steve soon learns there is more than one way to pursue your dreams and the answers to life's toughest questions are found when you stop looking for them.
Dahooma Productions is a New York based Production Company founded by actress Peggy Cafferty, (Ladder 49, Fur). Peggy founded Dahooma Productions in 2003 to write and produce, as well. Peggy will next be featured in the romantic comedy Three Days in Dublin to be directed by Beth Lauren and starring Ray Winstone. Peggy will star in and co-produce Paddyville with Eric Stoltz co-producing and Donal Logue directing, and she is currently developing a thriller to shoot in France and Amsterdam in the spring of 2011, and The Trade, a modern day version of Henrik Ibsen¹s A Dolls House to be directed by Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Laws of Attraction).
