E! News reported earlier this month that Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson will be joining the cast of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series "30 Rock" as a regularly recurring character or even potentially as a future permanent fixture.
This report came just days after Tina Fey announced that Jane Krakowski's character would be getting a new love interest.
E! revealed on October 15th that:
There will be a new tasty treat on TGS when Broadway star Cheyenne Jackson joins the cast. So far, he's been on for one episode, filling the void in the show of what Jack calls "real America," but Robert promises he'll be back for more. "Cheyenne will be appearing from time to time. We haven't hit this yet, but we've got to get a duet with him and Jane [Krakowski].
Today, a report on AfterElton.com reveals that Jackson will play Danny/Jack Baker in an episode call 'The Problem Solvers' on November 12. The site suggests that Jackson's character is a new cast member of TGS with Tracy Jordan, the variety show starring Tracy Morgan's character. Supposedly, the episode will also feature Top Chef judge Padma Lakshmi.
30 Rock won the 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy. 30 Rock is created by Tina Fey that airs on NBC on Thursday nights.
The series takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy series depicted as airing on NBC; the name "30 Rock" refers to the address of the GE Building where NBC Studios is located, 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
The series has an ensemble cast that currently consists of 10 regular cast members, including Fey, Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, Jack McBrayer, Scott Adsit, Judah Friedlander and Alec Baldwin.
