X-MEN DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director Bryan Singer was excited to share news of additional casting for his highly-anticipated film. Yesterday, Singer tweeted: "Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!"

Dinklage currently stars in the role of 'Tyrion Lannister' on HBO's popular saga Game of Thrones. The actor will join previously announced castmembers from 2011's X-Men: First Class as well as from the X-Men trilogy released from 2000-06, including James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is based on the 1981 Marvel Comics' 'Uncanny X-Men' and will feature, "both the 1960s First Class characters as well as a future version of the original trilogy characters. The original trilogy actors are said to appear primarily in scenes depicting a dystopian future."

The film, from 20th Century Fox, is scheduled to begin production this April with a target release date of July 18, 2014.
