On Saturday, March 23rd, MoveOn.org in collaboration with USA Action and Art Not War will be joined by Michael Moore for a screening of his film "Bowling for Columbine" at the SVA Theatre in New York City on the 10th anniversary of the film winning the Academy Award for Best Documentary and Moore's acceptance speech denouncing the Iraq war. After the film, viewers in the theater and nationwide will have an opportunity to discuss what Michael Moore calls the "beginning of the revolt" against gun violence post-Newtown with Moore; Garlin Gilchrist II from MoveOn.org; Lori Haas, the mother of a survivor of the Virginia Tech massacre; and Rob Wilcox, the cousin of gun violence victim Laura Wilcox, to whom "Bowling for Columbine" is dedicated.
The screening will be held on Saturday, 23 March 2013 at 6:30pm EST at the SVA Theatre, 333 West 23rd Street, New York, NY.
MoveOn and Moore will use the screening and subsequent panel discussion, which will be streamed at 9pm EST Saturday night to MoveOn members across the country, to mobilize activists in the fight for background checks and an assault weapons ban.
