Mark Wahlberg Reveals Details for the Upcoming ENTOURAGE Movie

Mark Wahlberg Reveals Details for the Upcoming ENTOURAGE MovieThe ENTOURAGE is regrouping.

Mark Wahlberg, producer of the acclaimed HBO series, ENTOURAGE, spoke with MTV today about the impending film adaptation of the show - in the interview, he was more than willing to give up some details.

The film was originally greenlit last year, but the script was only finished this week. It was a bit of a process, Wahlberg said.

"Doug [Ellin, executive producer] wanted to go off to do another show, and HBO liked the idea of doing it," he said. "...I always knew the fans wanted a movie. Everywhere I'd go, people are always asking me, "What about 'Entourage'? What about 'Entourage'? When's the movie coming?" So it just took a long time. It took a long time to get it written, get it right, and we got a fantastic script. Warner Bros. is very excited about it. All the guys are excited. Getting everybody in the same place at the same time has been tough as well."

In addition, he confirmed the film would be primarily focused on the four main guys - Vince Chase (Adrian Grenier), Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven), Eric Murphy (Kevin Connolly), Turtle (Jerry Ferrara,) and Johnny Chase (Kevin Dillon.)

'I always just wanted to get back to where it was just about the guys," he said. "We had a lot of strong female characters, and I love all those characters, but it really was always about the guys."

And though the film has been a long time coming, the project seems to be moving along the right track, Wahlberg confirmed.

"Hopefully [we'll shoot in] spring. Spring or summer. May, June, depending on scheduling. But hopefully as soon as possible. And then release, I mean, either a summer movie or a fall movie, depending. But I like the summer. I like April, May [2014]."

To read the full report, head on over to MTV.

The premise of the series was loosely based on Wahlberg's experiences as an up-and-coming film star. The series dealt with themes of male friendship and real-life situations in modern-day Hollywood. The show was known for its array of guest stars, usually featuring at least two celebrities per episode.
