Yesterday, it was reported that screen and stage star Kristen Bell would be re-teaming with VERONICA MARS creator Rob Thomas in pursuing a feature film adaptation of the quirky Cult action series, along with most of the original cast of the 2004-2007 show, and kicking it all off with a Kickstarter campaign to raise the needed $2 million to proceed further with their plans.
In less than 30 hours, not only has $2 million already been raised, but additional funds exceeding $750,000 have been donated, as well.
The very pregnant Bell humorously Tweeted earlier today: "All this excitement is prolly gonna send me into early labor #iamsoexcited #veronicamarsmovie"
Indeed, this makes the VERONICA MARS movie one step closer to a reality and adds yet another remarkable accomplishment to the already impressive resume of Bell, who has previously made major marks on Broadway (in THE ADVENTURES OF Tom Sawyer), on the small screen (look no further than REEFER MADNESS: THE MOVIE MUSICAL and the current HOUSE OF LIES) and in her many feature film roles (WHEN IN ROME, FORGETTING Sarah Marshall and many more).
Bell will next be appearing in the feature film version of Neil LaBute's SOME GIRL(S), as well as add her voice to a role in Disney's FROZEN, co-starring Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff.
