According to EWonline, a representative from Sony Picturs has confirmed that the currently untitled film from Kathryn Bigelow about the United States quest to find Osama Bin Laden has been given a release date of December 19, 2012.
Bigelow won a Best Directing Oscar in 2008 for her successful film The Hurt Locker. She has since been collaborating with screenwriter Mark Boal on the adaptation of the book 'Kill Bin Laden', which chronicles the US attempts to capture the leader of Al Qaeda in the battle of Tora Bora in late 2001. The script has taken on a new urgency since news of the assasination of Bin Laden was released last spring.
