Jude Law to Receive President's Prize at Vary Int'l FIlm Fest, 7/2-7/10

Jude Law will receive the president's prize at this year's Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Variety reports today. The festival, located in the town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, will take place from July 2 to July 10. The film 'The Talented Mr. Ripley,' which features Law in an Academy Award nominated performance, will be shown at the festival.

Jude Law's theatre credits include HAMLET (for which he is nominated for a 2010 Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play), Marlowe's DOCTOR FAUSTUS, 'TIS PITY..., and INDISCRETIONS (for which he was nominated for a Tony Award). His numerous film credits include 'Sherlock Holmes,' 'Closer,' 'Cold Mountain,' 'Gattaca,' and 'Wilde.' He has been nominated for two Academy Awards.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is an annual film festival, first held in 1946. In addition to competitions for both feature films and documentary films, the festival features programs of independent, little-known, and Czech films, among others. The festival also includes seminars on European film.
